Request: Blazing Eyes
Between the slowly wavering grass
On silent paws of air,
I slink, a shadowy, phantom beast,
With blazing eyes of amber.
With grace I crouch, my tail held still;
Surprise the best defence.
My muscles ripple beneath my coat,
Of golden fire and darkest depths.
I sweep my gaze across my kingdom
And there I see, with savage fury
An intruder come to steal
This crown of mine that's made of sun.
He's big and striped and one of my kind,
But he is not my friend
For this place I rule cannot be claimed,
I am the king, the best.
